Green Living

Go Green leaf with water drops

inGreen living is all about making conscious choices in your daily life which result in preservg the planet. It isn't complicated or difficult. Making a difference starts with you!

You should be proud of yourself because making eco friendly choices today that have an impact on the planet for many years to come. If you haven't already, check out our Top 10 Simple Ways You Can Go Green at Home and Work. Green living is simple. This handy list gives you green tips that are practical and easy to implement.

Today, we face a host of environmental challenges, but if you start by making even one “green” choice, you will be making a difference. Green living ideas are all around us. Be inspired by nature. Do your part to make informed everyday choices about the products you use, what you put in your body, and which companies you support.

How does this have anything to do with going green and green living? When you make eco-friendly choices, you are in turn protecting the environment by choosing goods that are made from sustainable natural resources.

If you use natural products in your home and for your body, you'll most likely feel an improvement in your overall health. Why? Because our bodies respond to natural substances better than synthetic ones.

When you choose eco friendly products made by companies who respect the earth, mind their emissions, and implement sustainable business practices, your money supports these efforts even further.

Supporting green companies is just a scratch on the surface of natural, green living, but if we all shifted our focus towards entities who are socially responsible, we can make a difference!

Think about it—you may purchase goods at the supermarket who purchase from your local farmers because you want to keep your hard earned money in the community. You obviously have a vested interest in your local community, so you shift your purchasing power to local manufacturers instead of other manufacturers so that your economy can sustain itself. This in turn reduces emissions because it takes less energy to transport every day goods from point A to point B when you purchase locally.

It's all about your purchasing power. You support causes that you believe in and green living shouldn't be any different! You have the power to make a difference in the environment each and every day by simply finding green companies who manufacture safe, effective, eco-friendly products that are derived from nature.

Buy green, live green.

So What Really Makes a Company Green Anyway?

Well, let's see.

Do they test on animals? This should be a definite no.

Do they counter their emissions from the delivery of their products by doing anything like planting trees? Do they draw their ingredients from natural, sustainable resources found in or on the earth?

Are the products preservative free? Are the ingredients toxic free? Does the company conduct research on all of its products to ensure effectiveness and efficacy?

Do they power their manufacturing plants with 100% green power (solar, wind, etc.)? Is the packaging recyclable or biodegradable? Is the company certified Climate Neutral™?

If You Don't Know or Never Thought About It...

And you are serious about going green, consider the questions above. Most companies do not conduct continuous, thorough research on the products they manufacture because it is too expensive. The net result is the ability to offer cheaper products to consumers, however they may or may not be safe long term.

Looking for a company who produces eco friendly products (that are preservative free and not tested on animals) AND offsets all, that's right, all of their emissions? Learn more.

We think sometimes “going green” gets a bad rap for being really expensive endeavor, but if you take just a few moments to find companies who are just as socially responsible as you are, you'll be making a huge contribution to saving the planet.

You will save money too. Think if more people in your community got turned on to this idea! We can and will make a difference!

It is up to us to be good stewards of the earth and it all starts by making environmentally friendly decisions. These decisions can save you lots of money too! Most people think that going green is an expensive endeavor.

In actuality, living green is part of a frugal lifestyle. If you shop smart and make eco-conscious decisions, you will save boatloads of money while helping the planet. Frugal living is the way to go, especially in these economic times.

Of course, you can make the big, green switcheroo and replace all of your products with eco-friendly products, your cars with hybrid cars, and your clothing with organic clothing all at once, but for the rest of us, gradual changes are more practical.

Either way, you'll find yourself making a difference and “living the green” life.

And that warms Mommy Earths' heart:)

About us :Global crisis

About Us: The Global Crisis
Deforestation and Climate Change

The earth is warming up, and the best available evidence points to the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases as the leading cause.

Deforestation and climate change are intimately connected: Globally, deforestation releases nearly 2 billion tons of carbon dioxide per year, and is responsible for nearly 25 percent of man-made CO2 emissions. The destruction of the world's forests not only harms the communities that depend on them, but increasingly affects us all.

While the root causes of deforestation vary from region to region, there are some common solutions. Communities need seeds, training, and technical support in order to adapt long-standing cultural and agricultural traditions (such as gathering fuelwood in nearby forests and practicing slash-and-burn agriculture) to new realities. Starting nurseries and planting trees is part of this process.

It is not too late. We are solution-oriented people. We have developed programs that work, which are restoring trees and forests to degraded lands. We are working with individuals, communities, and other organizations around the world with a shared vision for a positive change. We are a hands-on people-to-people program at the grassroots level, and we are leading by example. Read more about our programs, and how they work.

Join Us! There are many ways to get involved. Donations are gratefully accepted in any amount! We offer a free distance agroforestry training program. You can browse issues of our quarterly newsletter, or sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.
